Description

Presentation of the Chad TV
A public service medium created in December 1987 under exceptional conditions, Télé Tchad is one of two directorates - the other being the directorate of Radio Tchad - making
up the National Office of Broadcasting and Television of Tchad (ONRTV). National Television has five (5) sub-directorates namely:
1) The news department;
2) The program sub-directorate;
3) The technical direction;
4) The direction of the antenna;
5) And the production manager.
Note that the last two were created in August 2011, one to meet the challenge of quality through upstream control of the various programs to be broadcast and the other to meet
the production challenge. Television having taken on another dimension, with the placing of its programs on satellite from December 2008, around twenty services under the
various sub-directorates were also created, all to make national television efficient.
Faced with competition from foreign televisions which unfortunately give everything to consume because they are easily accessible, Chad television has opted for local
production, foreign programs being broadcast incidentally. The objective of this policy is obviously to promote our cultures but also to make television a melting pot of
national unity. In the same vein and, in an effort to further promote the voice and image of Chad, the highest authorities have not skimped on the means to provide television
with the latest generation equipment and thus raise it to the level of other televisions. In addition to the acquisition of twenty HD cameras, the TV has three (3) coaches for
live broadcasts, two (2) satellite cases, one (1) modern studio and ten editing benches, all digital. . It also has a fairly stocked fleet of vehicles which allows it to
accomplish its mission without major difficulties: that of informing and educating the populations, that of making government actions visible, that of bringing society's
problems to decision-makers. , that of bringing the rulers together with the ruled, that of contributing to political pluralism, the construction of peace and development. As
a result, TV has become essential, hence its many concerns.
In a constantly changing world where television has become an issue, the government has also initiated a project to prepare for the switch to all digital from 2015. In the
meantime, the young people sent for training will be back and the twelve-story building in front of housed ONRTV, will be delivered. This migration to DTT will undoubtedly be
a revolution. However, of all those that Chad TV has seen, this one seems to be taking place with varying degrees of preparation. However, some agents still need to be
retrained. This is the challenge.
Presentation of Radio Chad
At the proclamation of the independence of Chad, the National Radio was only a relay of the colonial radio of the AEF (French Equatorial Africa) broadcasting from Brazzaville
to the Congo. It was not until 1963, following agreements signed between Chad and France, to see Radio-Tchad become a national station. It therefore enjoyed management
autonomy. But its Director was required to submit for the approval of the Minister of Information the messages to be disseminated. In addition, the direction of the radio and
the animation of the programs were provided, for the most part, by expatriate staff, particularly French.
Created by Law No. 07 / PR / 2006, the Office National de Radiodiffusion et Télévision du Tchad comprises the Chadian National Television and the Chadian National Radio
Broadcasting. From then on, the RNT changed structures.
